⚠️ Avoid overuse — excessive abrasion can wear down enamel.
3. Hydrogen Peroxide (Diluted)
Hydrogen peroxide is a mild bleaching agent and is commonly found in whitening products.
Safe use:
Use a diluted solution (around 1.5–3%)
Rinse briefly, then spit and rinse with water
Do not swallow
Avoid frequent use without professional guidance.
4. Eat Crunchy Fruits and Vegetables
Apples, carrots, and celery can help scrub teeth naturally while stimulating saliva production, which helps neutralize acids.
They won’t dramatically whiten teeth, but they support cleaner-looking enamel.
5. Oil Pulling
Swishing coconut oil for 10–15 minutes may reduce bacteria in the mouth.
While evidence on whitening is limited, it may improve overall oral hygiene and reduce plaque buildup.
6. Limit Staining Foods and Drinks
If you regularly consume coffee, tea, or soda:
Rinse your mouth with water afterward
Use a straw for dark beverages
Avoid brushing immediately after acidic drinks (wait 30 minutes)
What About Tartar?
Tartar cannot be safely removed at home once hardened. Attempting to scrape it yourself can damage enamel and gums.
